This is a rewrite of a song that's been rewritten a bunch of times. I'm not sure whom the original credit belongs to, but I credit Leslie Fish for all the lyrics that aren't my own.

We all agree the time has come for action most direct,
But who’ll be the one to take it? We must be circumspect
Charlie’s still in prison, and Jimmy’s on parole,
And Jane got caught wheatpasting signs on telephone poles

Jeremy has left to form a new affinity group
And Mary went out shopping to buy the family soup
Susie hopped a freight train, said she’d try to keep in touch
And Evan will read theory but says praxis is too much.

Claire is still a pacifist, but might come round one day,
And John is out convincing libs to join the DSA
We met Kevin back in April, and we just can't be sure
If he’s with us in the struggle or a pig provocateur

Let’s all go out together cause we’re running out of time
Our best hope for the future is through unity and crime
We’re running out of patience, and the fuse is very short
I just hope this song don't end up used as evidence in court
